Dr. Nancy Hanrahan assumed the position of Professor and Dean of the School of Nursing and Senior Associate Dean of Innovation & Entrepreneurship for Bouvé College of Health Sciences effective July 2015. She is a national leader in psychiatric mental health nursing and known for her research documenting the psychiatric nurse workforce and researching innovative models of care for people with serious mental illness. Dr. Hanrahan leads the Nurse Innovation, Entrepreneurship Institute at Northeastern University School of Nursing. This program empowers nurses to lead innovation that transforms health systems using big data, redesigns the healthcare experience of patients and families, and engages patients in meaningful health behavior change. She’s received national and international awards for development of innovative interventions.
Dr. Hanrahan received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, and her masters and doctoral degrees from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA. She completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Nursing.
